# CAD Compare

> Compare STEP CAD files (parts and assemblies) in the browser or from an AI assistant: identical, the same part in another position, or different, and what changed (holes, fillets, chamfers, dimensions, assembly structure). Files are processed locally and never uploaded.

- Free: verdict, deviation, coloured differing faces in 3D, volume difference, mirrored parts, assembly verdict.
- Pro (free during the beta, with an account): list of differences with values, assembly change list, batch comparison and duplicates, reports, all MCP tools.
- Input: STEP (.step, .stp; AP203/AP214/AP242). Not supported: native CAD formats, drawings, meshes.
